the IEEE conferences in April. I would like to thank everyone

Securing
D20 RTU to meet NERC CIP Standard
As the deadline to be NERC CIP compliant is
fast approaching, utilities are shifting into high gear to implement
security measures in various critical infrastructures. ASAT Solutions
Inc. recently released the DAP mini™ server for D20
RTU upgrade provides an easy way to add security features to the
D20 RTU. It addresses the urgent need of securing D20 RTU as part
of the corporate initiative to be NERC CIP compliant.
DAPmini™ adds various security features to the
D20 RTU including:
- Multiple level user definitions
- User access challenge and authentication

- Firewall and IP access control
- Enable or disable unused serial and Ethernet
ports
- Centralized user administration
- Monitoring and logging of user access

ASAT Solutions
Inc. and its local engineering partner were selected
by Korea Gas Company (Kogas) to upgrade their D20
RTU systems in ten stations. The project involved
upgrading the old D20M+ RTU to the latest D20ME
in a redundant CPU architecture to achieve higher
performance and greater reliability. With its extensive
experience and expertise, ASAT helped Kogas successfully
transition to the new systems while minimizing technical
risks and project costs.
As the Value

automation IED products such as D20 and D25 RTUs,
and associated integration, technical support and
warranty services to utilities and industrial customers.
D20 modules and components can also be ordered for
system expansion and as spares. To facilitate faster

June 2, 2008, Edmonton, AB, Canada –
Manford Kwan, President and CEO of ASAT
Solutions Inc. was invited to speak at the HKCBA (Hong Kong
Canada Business Association) National Canada-Hong Kong Business
Forum at the Shaw Conference Center. Mr. Kwan shared the stage
with the Honorable Rona Ambrose, Cabinet Minister of the Federal
Government of Canada; Ron Stevens, Deputy Premier of Alberta;
and Stephen Mandel, Mayor of Edmonton, in addressing business
executives and entrepreneurs from across
Canada and overseas. In his speech and in the panel discussion
that followed, Mr. Kwan shared ASAT’s experience in
market development and business success in Hong Kong and the
Asia Pacific regions.
May 15, 2008, Calgary, AB, Canada – ASAT Solutions
Inc. in partnership with ATCO Group, participated in the
annual Junior Achievement program. ASAT and ATCO volunteers
spent one day at Mount Royal College teaching the Economics
of Staying In School to Grade 9 students from various Calgary
and area schools. Through many creative and fun-filled activities,
the volunteers helped students recognize and learn the importance
of staying in school. The student survey showed that the
majority who completed the program were excited about defining
personal goals, developing career plans and continuing their
education. At ASAT, we are committed to “Giving back
to the community” through various community and charity
events.
