Participates in Operation Christmas Child
As a part of the Community Service Program, the ASAT
team participated in the Operation Christmas Child program
at the Samaritan’s Purse Canada. On December 8, 2010,
ASAT staff spent the afternoon volunteering at the Samaritan’s
Purse facilities where we helped inspect, sort, and
pack shoe boxes that were stuffed with toys, school
supplies, and etc. We processed approximately 2,000
gift boxes that will bring joy and excitement to less
fortunate children around the world.

Participates in Junior Achievement
On May 5th, 2010 ASAT Solutions Inc. once again presented
the Junior Achievement Program (Economics for Success)
at Mount Royal University. Economics for Success is an
interactive program designed to encourage students to
consider and reflect on the advantages of remaining in
school until they have acquired the knowledge, skills
and attitudes to undertake the long-term goal of a successful
career.

and Exposition

Following the product launch of DAPgateway™
for IEC-81850 at DistribuTECH 2010, ASAT showcased
the DAPgateway™ at the 2010 IEEE PES Transmission
and Distribution Conference and Exposition in New
Orleans. Integrating IEC-61850 IEDs from major manufacturers
such as ABB, Areva, GE and SEL, the DAPgateway™
demonstrated its capability in facilitating a true
multi-vendor IEC-61850 based substation automation
system. The DAPgateway™ enables power system
operators to integrate both legacy IEDS and IEC-61850

Western Power Delivery Automation
Conference
Spokane, WA - April 13-15,2010
ASAT participated in the annual WPDAC where electric
power utilities, technology and service providers gathered
to share experience related to substation and feeder automation,
utility communication, cyber security, power system stability
and other applications. In this conference, ASAT also
demonstrated how its DAP
server™ technologies can
be utilized to meet these application needs and address

DAPgateway™
Launched at DistribuTECH 2010
ASAT Solutions Inc. successfully launched its DAP
gateway™
for IEC-61850 at DistribuTECH 2010 in Tampa, Florida on
March 23-25, 2010. Integrated with IEC-61850 IEDs from
major manufacturers such as ABB, Areva, GE and SEL, the
DAP
gateway™ demonstrated its capability in facilitating
a true multi-vendor IEC-61850 based substation system.
Combining with the DAP
server™, the DAP
gateway™
enables power system operators to mix and integrate legacy
and IEC-61850 IEDs to a single system.
With DAP
gateway™ added to the DAP
server™
product family, we can help customers to upgrade or expand
their legacy substation systems to IEC-61850 based Smart
Substation with a migration approach, said Manford Kwan,
President and CEO.
The DAP
gateway™ is also
available in DAP
mini™ which will enable D20 RTU
users to integrate IEC-61850 IEDs with D20 RTUs. ASAT

ASAT
Volunteers at Care for the Kids Radiothon
On February 5, 2010, ASAT staff did their part as phone
bank volunteers at the CARE FOR KIDS RADIOTHON in support
of the Alberta Childrens Hospital Foundation. Audiences
from Country 105 FM and Q107 Classic Rock FM heard amazing
stories from people at the heart of the Alberta Childrens
Hospital - its kids, families and caregivers. ASAT staff
were proud to be part of such a worthwhile event and
want to thank all those that tuned in and gave from
their hearts.
